Welcome to my blog detailing my travels around and about Europe this summer :). Here is where you will find an overview of all the adventures planned for this summer.
Summary
This summer I will be spending most of my time participating in one of UNC's Burch Field Research Seminars titled "International Organizations in Post-Conflict Situations". Or titled something similar to that at least. Basically, we will be learning about the role that international organizations play in post-conflict areas, specifically the Balkans. We will spend 3 weeks in the Balkans doing field research and then 3 weeks in Vienna, Austria finishing up our research and writing a research paper on a related topic of our choosing. Pretty exciting stuff.
After this, I will spend the following two, two and a half weeks travelling around Europe. Germany, Italy, and potentially France or Spain are on the list, but stay tuned for the blog for the full details
Blogs
I will end up keeping three separate blogs, mostly because have two months worth of daily posts on one blog is super confusing. Thus, I separate them into parts.
Part One: The Balkans.
- This part will include Kosovo, Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and maybe Serbia?
- This part will also include weekend trips to places yet to be determined, but most likely Prague and Budapest
Part Three: Independent Travels
- To be determined! The possibilities are endless
Directions
The main page of this blog has links to the three parts of the trip, which you can use to access the actual blogs. Technically, there won't be anymore posts on this blog, though I might post updates if I can figure out how to. Additionally, the links under the heading above link to the blogs. Or you can bookmark the blogs directly, but this keeps all the blogs together in a nice place.
Itinerary
Below is a complete copy of the posted itinerary, though it's probably going to change and it's not complete.
And on a final note, ignore this picture below. It's the only way I can have the pictures on the main page.
